Sophia Rokhlin

Sophia Rokhlin is an author, speaker and nonprofit organizer dedicated to supporting the conservation of forest peoples’ wisdom and territories.

She holds a BA in Anthropology from The New School and a M.Sc. in Ecological Economics from the Institute of Environmental Science and Technology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. She currently works with the Rainforest Foundation US, securing Indigenous peoples’ lands and rights. She is Technical Secretariat of the Amazon Emergency Fund, the largest Indigenous-led humanitarian relief program delivering aid to nine countries of the Amazon. Sophia has worked with the Environmental Justice Atlas, mapping grassroots activism related to commodity extraction in the Americas, and previously served as a Program Coordinator at the Chaikuni Institute, exploring regenerative agriculture solutions in degraded landscapes of the Peruvian Amazon.
