V. Castro is a two-time Bram Stoker Award-nominated writer born in San Antonio, Texas, to Mexican American parents. Fascinated by Mexican folklore and Texas urban legends, she has been writing horror since childhood. Now residing in the UK with her family, her recent works include: Alien Vasquez from Titan Books, Mestiza Blood and The Queen of the Cicadas from Flame Tree Press, Goddess of Filth from Creature Publishing, and The Haunting of Alejandra from Del Rey Books.
